Smile The Odeon, Wolverhampton

Keep meaning to take some pics of here..... it was a bingo hall, now shut not sure how long its been tho.... best guess 12 months I believe it is now owned by an indian restauranteur and that there was plans to turn it into a restaurant, but I believe that these have now been put on hold... The only pics I have got were taken late one sunday evening a couple of weeks ago, the night I saw the OB units....

this feature is typical of this type of cinema

I really must go back in the light one day as there is quite often someone in there....

Thats just an illusion, its a decorative feature of it, it will be more apparent when I can get back.....

I also know of another one in Great Barr and spotted a similar one in wednesbury that is now a bingo hall

The Odeon Cinema did indeed become a triple from 1973 until its conversion back when it became a bingo centre some ten years later. Listing-but this is only for the front exterior, mind you-came in 2000.

I'm including this location in my forthcoming selection of Wolverhampton cinemas.
