Default An Urbexer's Honeymoon - Gelston Castle

Hi guys,
well we are now a married couple! woohoo! And just back from the honeymoon in Scotland. Before we went, we mapped out several interesting looking places with a little help from the buildings at risk register. So I have several explores to share with you which i'll post over the next couple of days, starting with this one. the first one we did.

Gelston Castle. There is an interesting story behind this castle and the man who built it. Rather than me copy and paste bits and bobs you can read the whole thing here -
Gelston Castle Holidays, Self-Catering Cottages Scotland: Gelston Castle definatley worth the read by the way.

ok here's the pics.

the rest of the inside wasn't much cop, with everywhere just looking
pretty much like this

thanks guys, comments are, as always, welcome.

Congratulations to you and Mrs Vogelport!! Nice pics.

I always think it's a shame to see buildings decaying away, unloved.

Thanks all.

well if you want a visit, my mum and dad have a B&B 5 mins up the road. (discounts for a party of MH members!) The amount of dereliction around there is unbelievable, my favorite was the Munitions factory/RAF, army and navy base/POW camp also 5 mins away, i'll be posting those pics soon.

WOW! What a great looking Castle!

Such a shame to see buildings like this in such a state.
