Hasn't the Drop Redoubt got 2 or 3 sets of stairs so troops could get from top of cliffs to street level more quickly? Or is that something else

thats the grand shaft, it has 3 sets of steps down to the street, so they could get troops down as quick a possible, i climbed that last week in the heat built between 1806 and 1809

    Looks impressive

Is it open to the public? Or just certain times?

still loading lol, this is the entrance to lyden spout

    once you finaly get inside

just over the field is lyden spout plotting room, which still has the gas filters lying on the floor, this entrance is through the escape hatch, as the main bit is filled in

this is the back fill to the main entrance, although the little room on the right is in perfect condition, like someone just left the room yesterday, round pinned electric sockets stil shiney on the wall

this ones just inside a magazine at lyden spout about 20 yards from the plotting room (don't have to go far for the next hole)

one the notices on the wall of the magazine

    entrance to deepshelter at southforland

    stairs down deepshelter

2 more entrances to deepshelters in dover

many thanks to my friend kim for this pic of me, climbing out of a tight squeeze/hole

(jesus, it took awhile to load these pics)

most the entrances are bit spooky, specialy when you have never entered the place before, but once your inside (most) of these places you can stand up like normal.
