very nice airfield to walk around, i've stuck the rest of the pics on photo bucket, it go's up to page seven, including harlow AAOR system site and cuffley, these places were built from the 40's up to the 50's interesting places.

no i havn't had the chance yet, some of my other mates have, i've only been into this sought of thing (cheap hobby) for only about a year & a half, having a family slows things down. i'm off to fort horstead in chatham kent next month though (nice easy 1 day job) and will probably do a few others things round there when we have finished (can't wait).. then possibly another deepest darkest essex mooch after that...

That fingy is like that fingy chedd and I saw at Tilstock...the pointed-arched topped shelter. Nice!

chedd...if you want a weekend away, take my car. You can sleep in the back. Or take the trailer tent and go in style!

Ooh! Exploration Holiday anyone!

I do chedd...the biggest one you have ever seen! Shes a beauty! A great base for a night or ten.

I am researching the UK's heaviest concentration of interesting sites right now!

It looks like Cannock...oddly...

if your looking at the shelter in pic 1, there would have been earth piled up round it more, that part of the area is covered in clay pidgeon bits, on that day, there was guys firing in that direction, we parked our cars a few hundred yards away, when we were getting in our cars, we were being covered in shot dust. when we went to leave, they had all gone and locked the main gate, knowing i'm sure that we was still there. still we found another gate (farm house) and drove pretty sharpish through the farm to get out
