    Lightbulb And now for something.......

    And now for something.....
......completely different. Or at least not commom. ( with apologies to Monty Python ! )

I have recently updated both my homepage and some of the associated flickr collections. These represent the projects undertaken by Stanegate Restorations and Replicas, of Haltwhistle.

I think that you'll find them interesting. I should warn you that they are mostly heritage transport or similar, and most are 12" to the foot scale - ie 100% scale!

How about a coke-fired horse-drawn chip van? (yes, you did read that!)

I try to keep the flickr sections (in particular) updated with developments, and I hope to be able to have to add details of another significant new project quite soon. When that happens I'll add to this thread, which I hope to be more or less weekly for the flickr updates, and rather less often for the new project updates on my homepage.
Most of our projects take several months to complete, and at times there seems to be very little progress to show, until a lot of previously produced or refurbished items are put together.

You are welcome to comment - here or there.

Thanks for looking! If you click on the flickr image thumbnails, then I get to know what is popular (or not).

PS – I asked for, and obtained, permission to run this thread, and intend it not only to showcase how I spend a lot of my time, but also as an update service for the restoration projects themselves.

Hopefully, my next post(s) should have some image links - in the meantime, my signature has a link to my flickr account - which may be familiar to some members already !

    Lightbulb And now for something.......

    Early May 2012 UPDATES:

Since my last updates, during April, I have been posting more images to the flickr account. I have done this in several stages; however, by yesterday I had added somewhere in the region of forty images. I have also updated my homepage, a further update is due very soon……
Mostly they are work related – the first link specifically shows further work to the Forcett Coach, the next one is the Miller Fifer, which is due a few extra images as we have reached a milestone – the engine runs! Which, if it will stop raining, will be photographed……..but there are a few other subjects, as well.

We attended the graduation of the first group of EHSI trainees, and I’ve a few images of the event.

As a small project, we built a display case for a model of a “Double Fairlie” locomotive.

If you visit the ‘Sets’ index page, the *new* and *updated* markers are in the appropriate set titles, as yet I have not added markers to the images themselves – I am using the ‘date uploaded’ marker instead.

Please – feel free to splash around in my photostream, let me know what you spot by having a click or three. If you are a flickr member – you will be able add a comment or maybe even select a favourite (or several). There are some galleries as well; these have other peoples’ images…..I have posted remarks as to why I added the selected images.

    Thanks for looking.

I'll have a look now I've given it some thought

out of all the picture links you've given above, the only one that is (nearly) correct for showing a pic is the third one down. I say nearly because it doesn't show as a pic and I think that this is because all the text of/ for the link is wrapped in the code tags, mainly colour. You need to paste the link for the pic as per here-

http://www.midlandsheritage.co.uk/us...ther-site.html (Linking a picture from another site)

    which would give you this-

the first link is a link to a set on flickr and not an individual image (incidentally you can show a slideshow of a set which would give you the following)

    *updated* Beamish - Forcett Coach@@AMEPARAM@@offsite=true&lang=en-us&page_show_url=%2Fphotos%2F60884630%40N06%2Fsets %2F72157627139592710%2Fshow%2F&page_show_back_url= %2Fphotos%2F60884630%40N06%2Fsets%2F72157627139592 710%2F&set_id=72157627139592710&jump_to=@@AMEPARAM @@en-us@@AMEPARAM@@%2Fphotos%2F60884630%40N06%2Fsets%2F 72157627139592710%2Fshow%2F&page_show_back_url=%2F photos%2F60884630%40N06%2Fsets%2F72157627139592710 %2F&set_id=72157627139592710&jump_to=

the rest of the links look to me as tho you have just linked to the picture in flickr and not a direct link for the picture itself as detailed here-

    http://www.midlandsheritage.co.uk/us...es-flickr.html (Inserting pictures from flickr)

if you view the overall text and resulting code tags around various words etc in your original post (the easiest way is for you to quote your own post before clicking reply to your own post) you will see that the various codes wrapped around words/ phrases etc is messy and duplicated sometimes (by code tags I mean [img][/img] for a pic link etc) does that help or is it all gobbledy gook?

Wink Re: And now for something.......

Many Apologies for the lateness of this post – all should become clear(ish) with the contents
Mid – late June 2012 UPDATES:

Since my last update, back in mid May, I have been uploading images to the flickr account. I have done this in several stages; however, by yesterday I had added somewhere in the region of forty images. I have also updated my homepage, to include the details of new projects……

The major item of interest is that the Foxfield Railway based North Staffordshire Railway Rolling Stock Restoration Trust (NSRRSRT) have commissioned Stanegate Restorations and Replicas to return NSR127 to operational condition. The trust have supplied an underframe and we will rebuild the body…..the Staffordshire Environmental Fund have provided a substantial grant towards the cost. Images uploaded so far are the delivery and some of the ‘before’ ones. More will follow as work progresses
    NSR127 : NSR 127 - full length | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

Most of the new images are work related – the first link specifically shows further work to the Forcett Coach, and there has been more work recently….. the next one is the Miller Fifer, showing the engine running! Followed by a shot of the Sentinel cab (again, this is further advanced than seen here) and there are a few other subjects, as well.
Forcett :BM FC - new end & butresses | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
Miller :MF - wet exhaust | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
And another one of Ben, doing his best as morale and entertainments manager!
BDD - lead tangle | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
I’m hoping to be able to upload quite a few more images very soon – so please check back…….
If you visit the ‘Sets’ index page, the *new* and *updated* markers are in the appropriate set titles, as yet I have not added markers to the images themselves – I am using the ‘date uploaded’ marker instead.

Please – feel free to plodge in my photostream, you can click on things that interest you to get the ‘on black’ version, or for a larger image. If you are a flickr member – you will be able add a comment or maybe even select a favourite (or several). There are several galleries as well; these have other peoples’ images…..I have posted remarks as to why I added the selected images. The most recent are of “William Riley” in the Jubilee Thames Pagaent

    Thanks for looking.

Certainly, that should be possible - with enough notice, as workshops are "interesting" from the " 'elf n saftea " point of view.....

There's a piece about the NSRRSRT in the local rag today:

Many, Many Apologies for the lack of recent (!) updates – the last one was months ago !
I’ll not bore you with the details of the reasons; it is more than a bit complicated. Suffice it to say that posting updates has not been that high a priority, although I’ve continued to add images to the flickr photostream, showing work in progress on various projects as well as a range of other subjects.

Up to November 2012 UPDATES :

Since my last update, back in mid June, I have been uploading images to the flickr account. I have done this in several stages; however, by 14th November I had added somewhere in the region of 300 images. I have also updated my homepage, to include the details of new projects……
Progress is being made on NSR127 : NSR 127 - new end frame | Flickr - Photo Sharing! Please note :- There are some more images of the latest work to be uploaded shortly.
Work continues on S&D179 – recently the scumbling has been progressed. Re-assembly will follow shortly. Forcett :BM FC - body side planks | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
The Sentinel Steam Waggon cab and roof have been built, painted and delivered. SSW - gloss interior | Flickr - Photo Sharing! We are looking forward to seeing the finished vehicle on display in the future.
And another one of Ben : demostrating his lifejacket – quite the sea-dog !
BDD - Lifejacket | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
I’m hoping to be able to upload quite a few more images very soon – so please check back…….
