    Default A French hi!

    Hello !

I'm a French student living in Stafford for my studies (MSc). I've just discovered this forum thanks to Google because I am an amateur photographer and I was looking for ruins to do photoshoots. I hope I will able to find some great places!

    Bonjour

I always smile when I hear some French words from people I meet for my photoshoots.

Ahhh! Welcome to the forum angelcakes!

Here we go...I can practice my french!

    Bonjour Mon Ami,

'Je reviens en trois joures ne te laves pas...'

I'll be back in three days - do not wash. Apparently said by some famous French bloke to some famous French chick and the only thing I can remember from school.

Perhaps you would like to correct my stupidity so that I can say it properly!

Anyhoo, hope you stay a while and look forward to seeing your posts and pics!

    Hi Indy

About your French sentence, I can't understand the meaning :P lol, but I would say (in French) regarding your English sentence:
"Je reviens dans trois jours - Ne te laves pas"
But as I said, I don't know when you could do that because it's a silly phrase lol.

By the way, I hope you will correct my English if I do mistakes, it will help me to improve!

I will share my pics as soon as I'll take some ^^

My French is terrible and I promise never to subject you to it again! A big welcome in any case...

I am embarassed to only speak one language (badly at that).

I really admire people who can switch between languages. I work with a guy who speaks 6 fluant and 1 gets by.

Flocool you deserve a from me.

PS. I just remembered these from my school days (please forgive spellings and miss-interpretations)

Ouvre le fenetre (open the window)

Ou et le reglre (where is the ruler)

Quel age avec vous (How old are you)

Femer la bush (Shut your mouth)

    Sacre blue (Into the blue)

    Mared le tet (Head ache)

Pomme de terre (Potato) (apple of the ground)

    I will shut up now.

    Welcome again Flocool.

Don't worry, it's great to be warm welcome like this and also to read French ^^

I will just correct your previous translations:
Ouvre le fenetre (open the window) => Ouvres la fenêtre
Ou et le reglre (where is the ruler) => Où est la règle ?
Quel age avec vous (How old are you) => Quel âge avez-vous ?
Femer la bush (Shut your mouth) => two ways to say that:
    polite way: Tais-toi
impolite way: Fermes la OR Fermes ta gueule (this last translation couls be considered like an insult)
Sacre blue (Into the blue) => sacrebleu (not used anymore in France lol)
Mared le tet (Head ache) => Mal de tête
Pomme de terre (Potato) (apple of the ground) => no error!! It's "Pomme de terre" (and yes, word by word it means "apple of the ground").
