I arrived here by chance, took a look around, and decided to join.

I live in Blythe Bridge (just to the south-east of Stoke-on-Trent for the uninitiated) and I'm currently working on a personal project which concerns the Wolstanton and Burslem Union Workhouse.

In 2009/10 I was asked to produce a piece of work on Westcliffe Hospital which a few of you here have photo-documented in its pre-demolition condition. The work was ostensibly for the local community who were desperate to keep the building, which was an infirmary block built in 1894 or thereabouts.

Neither it nor any of the other buildings were considered worthy of listing.

I have some old shots (not mine) which I could perhaps upload if there is any interest.
