Some sort of military use?? machine gun/ bow and arrow/ crossbow point perhaps? probably nowhere near but hey!

To be honest,having lived between 2 farms when I were growing up,it looks like sumat the farmer'd put the milk churns on ready for thre tanker come collect?

If we'd had a machine gun post when we were kids then the milking would've been a lot more fun lol. Most milk churn stands were made of wood,but there were a few round our way that were out of stone,if you're lucky you can drive round our old village (Moddershall other side of Stone) and find some of the old wooden structures just by the farm gates.

You're both right! During World War II there was a secret plan to disguise extra large milk churns as pillboxes and they would have been placed at strategic points on some roads.
