So the RFC became the RAF in 1918? Interesting. I saw a grave dated 1917 recently of someone who, according to the headstone, had been in the RAF; I did wonder at the time I saw it if that was correct. I've also seen war headstones with RFC on so the RAF one must have been a mistake
