Posts were certainly not the height of modern comforts.

If you are not already aware of it -
There is a published/official history of the ROC entitled "Attack Warning Red" : the list of posts is comprehensive - but not 100% accurrate (having tried to find a few, during exercises!).
Since the stand-down some posts and controls have been demolished/dismantled/filled with concrete.
