Default Butter Hill and Fire Pumphouse.

Found this whilst rooting about the WW2 fuel store at Butter Hill.

Pumphouse.

Diesel.

Entrance to tanks.

Bottom of entrance stairs.

A grand day out.

Was this actually part of the fuel store or something else? Did you climb to the bottom of the ladder in your last pic?

OK, the pumphouse is here:
http://www.flashearth.com/?lat=53.23....1&r=0&src=msl
and it pumped to Butter Hill across the canal bridge.

It looks as if it could also pump to the still used Backford/Wervin sites.

Did not climb down the ladder, smelled like a dead sheep in there.
