Tell me about it! But the way things are at the mo I wouldn't be surprised if no developments happen here at the mo, even if it is sold

    True enough!

I have included aerials of the filter block and then the labelled one is of the main control block to the north.

After reading the bit on SubBrit about the main control bunker to the North of the filter block, i decided to do a little aerial recce. It is in what is now the HGV test centre...there's a tree covered area which is the mound and across the road to the South, near the ramp is the entrance block (with two slopes to it's roof!).
There is a motorcycle training centre RIGHT in front of the mound and the portakabin they use is across from the stairway hut.

Interesting but no doubt still full of water.

I went for a walk around here today having heard about the bunker from some other research. Its pretty wet down there. I didn't go in as it was almost dark by the time we got there.

I checked on the savills website and it was apparently sold prior to auction but I have no idea whether that sale went through or who brought the land. I'll try and find out.

I had now idea that the HGV site and bike training centre were all old buildings. I bet there are all sorts of interesting tunnels under there.

    Cool stuff.

Had a quick re visit with Loafife yesterday evening, builders are in, couple of shipping containers there already and some equipment stored in the bunker.... Big new padlock on the main door, no access whats so ever

Shame it now going to be lost to the archives, so that we can build more houses for the populas who cant afford due to the recession!!!

Not sure about the concrete block, maybe a blocked air vent or passageway to the top of the bunker for aerial access, as for the other Loaflife says that its the old aerial mount?

Just out of mild curiosity, what is the relevance of the above statement to RAF Watnall??

You're not a troll are you by any chance? also, now that I think about it, I'm curious as to your age...
