    Default RAF Kings Cliffe

Found some pictures that Jakob and I have taken over loads of visits.

Info and site plan can be found at:

Dispersal pan defenses as seen at Wellingore and many others:

Across the road to the north, part of the dispersed sites, the WAAF site and the sick quaters now riding stables, stores and dereliction.

Further into the woods, there was a few of these:

    A fire pool:

    Pillbox:

    More to follow!

Inside the battle HQ, anyone have a deisel pump we could borrow?

    Unknown building looking slightly unsafe:

me an outkast went to kings cliffe a few months back, great place to wonder until we was met with a guy in a 4x4 with shot guns in the front window, who was not to pleased about us wondering around, as there was guys in some watch towers, in sniper position to shoot deer/rabbits, aparently we were in there sites, good job we wasn't in camo gear . did any of you venture into the contol tower?? we did, upstairs we went, until outkast saw the canon for scaring birds off, we had heard it go off every ten minutes, so we had no idea how much time we had to get out of the building, so we ran. i think we had just 5 minutes before it went off and would of bust our ear drums

Fascinating pics, Gingie. Is that a war memorial where the flags are flying?

yes, its easier to see it better from the road.
i also noticed there was a pipe (yellow) running out of the B.H.Q when i was there, like the farmer pumped it out every now and then.

real bloody shame that, the brick work was well crumbling, the boom from the cannon probably wasn't helping it, going off every 15 mins, shaking the building each time.
