Can anyone confirm that some of the A53 between Buxton and Leek was originally the route of a Roman road?

There is part of the aggar visible in the field near Blackbank Farm at SK 032666, but the rest is conjecture.
There should have been a marching camp round Cheddleton somewhere but again this has not been found yet.
"Until the construction of the Leek Buxton turnpike, the route out of Leek was through Meerbrook, over the Roaches and across Goldsitch Moss. It is hard to believe that the surveyors for the new turnpike hit on the same straight lines as had his roman counterpart so many centuries earlier." From Peakland Roads and Trackways by AE Dodd & EM Dodd.
Sutton Park has one of the best preserved sections of Roman road in the country..
