    Default Knypersley Reservoir and dam

    Originally known as Knypersley Pool, in Knypersley Estate, the reservoir was designed by Thomas Telford and opened in 1827. Now a part of Greenway Bank Country Park, it provides a feed for the Cauldon Canal and from there into the Trent & Mersey Canal, the River Trent flowing through it not far from its head









    The bridge carries a road across the dam

    Not to steal your post, but I got a couple of shots of a reservoir a little while ago, the water level quite low also:









    And the local Pterodactyl had been around too:
