No expense spared here! Ironic since it's in Stoke-on-Trent, the cash-strapped city.
There used to be a railway bridge here which carried the Stoke - Biddulph line and also coal traffic
There's also a nice piece of 'street furniture'

Yes typical Stoke- locals complained about the original disused railway bridge as the local yobs used it to lob bricks, etc at cars passing underneath. So bridge dismantled & within a few years a nice shiney new one replaces it as its on a Sustrans route. Trouble is the said yobs then remove the stainless steel fittings & wire ropes to sellSo rethink on fittings, etc & apparently install cctv cameras to monitor it.
I'm waiting for the Chatterley Whitfield Heritage Country Park to be opened as this has a couple of new bridges over the re-profiled stream bed. Locals are up in arms over them because of the height above the water, the hand rails, well you name it & they complain about itAnd thats before you mention the fencing, slope angles & lack of bins for horse riders to clean up after their horses (yes you just did read that
