    Default Cotton College,East Staffordshire

Some history on the place here http://www.cottoncollege.co.uk/

It closed in 1987. There was security on-site while I was there with what sounded like an Alsatian dog.

Possibly a sports hall on the right

    and again on the left

The building on the left, hidden behind the trees, is St Wilfred's Church which is still open - there's another gate through which you can gain access to the churchyard.

    Talking Re: Cotton College,East Staffordshire

This is a lovely place isn't it? Its a crying shame its been allowed to get into the state its in.

The dogs are Dobermen. Thats plural for 'more than one of the gnashing white toothed beasties that run dead quick' as Enrashid, Nitewing and I know very well. Your tenth picture is the fence that brings back so many happy memories... enough said about that!

I have some pictures too...I was going to wait until I had some more as we had to leave a little quicker than I liked but now you have started the thread is it okay to join in?

'course you can add to the thread; I had no idea you'd been there too. I actually phoned site security, Amos, to ask if there was any chance of going in the grounds but was told the site was too unsafe. A local guidebook I have also says it's all about ready to collapse.

Nice work, girls - great photos. It looks like the sight of some kind of historical battle, maybe something out of an episode of Sharp, doesn't it?

But yeah this place was fun to visit - even with the sharp exit

If you click here, there are a couple of shots taken inside by a guy on Derelict Places.

was in here very recently. No sign of anyone or any dogs - maybe I was just very lucky. I did see a van parked up , looked very much like the one pictured above, and a car with one of those cover things you use to ...ehmmm well cover cars really, covering it. (Did I use the word cover enough ??)

stunning, stunning place - wish I coulda got inside and also to have seen it in it's prime.

They really should make something of it - that is just too gorgeous to allow it to fall down

Was talking to someone on a walk today and he mentioned this place, he'd been inside it too. Said it was amazing inside, there was even a blackboard with the last lesson still chalked on it

I did see a blackboard - there seemed to be a classroom in the basement - I got excited for a minute when I saw steps and a doorway - but was only to basement - about 3/4 rooms and no access to elsewhere in there - they have very big chains and padlocks in places too
