The house is called "The Woodhouse"

It is owned by the quarry and i lived in there for many years.
It is haunted by a little girl, aged around 9 years old and she sits on the stairs.

I dont know what the history of this little girl is but she would be there usually at night.

The house consisted of 3 lounges, 4 rather large bedrooms, one large kitchen, 3 pantrys, 3 outbuildings and a cellar that runs the whole length of the house.

It also has a roof terrace that would over look the whole of Tamworth town.

The history of the building as I know it is that whoever lived in the castle centurys ago used the "Woodhouse" as a hunting home.

If I can help you with any other information then please email me on joannefarrington@ymail.com

    Hi,

I will have a look through my photos to see if I have any and if I do I will post them on here.

The house itself is beautiful and I forgot to mention that it also had a library which was just off the lounge.

There was also a trap door which was under the kitchen table however we could never lift it.

I miss being there and moved out when the quarry let it out to the owner of the racing stables which I believed then housed several racing staff.

i lived in this house for a couple of years whilst riding for the local racehorse trainer bryan mcmahon. i would love to visit the grounds again to see what sort of a mess it is in.
there were around 7 of us who lived there all stable staff we all have fond memories of the place (and the walk through the sludge to get to the local pub)

    John Roe ha ha.

Its Jo hun, yes it was fun walking through the graveyard up the muddy hill to get home... It certainly was a den of eniquity for us stable staff.

Unfortunately it has been knocked down now... such a shame!

Im trying to think of the lady who was the landlady... was it Jen or Viv?

It was Normans sister who had it, then he took over it and I believe it got raided by the police a year or 2 after I moved out.

    Take care anyway hun.

Are you still in racing now?

hi jo whilst i was there it was VIV a big scarey woman who infact had a heart of gold. i turned out to be Bryan's amateur jockey and after VIV kicked me out i had to push bike 17 miles to the stables and then 17 miles back. lol not a cycle ride i enjoyed but the staff i worked along side made it worth it. a great bunch. X x x

    Hi John,

What year did you leave McMahons?

When I was there, you were there too as well as Lee Newton, Sashi Righton.
Bryan doesnt own the stables anymore, Its his Eddie who has it now and its based over the farm.
