Nice one Paul...you must have posted this a while before I joined. Where is it exactly?

That Wolverhampton Airfiled sign would have been shiny and new when you were eleven...right?

Turn off the A449 on to the Wobaston road at the vine Island, heading for Codsall and Bilbrook, go over the next island, over the traffic lights (on your left will be Pendeford business park - formerly the airport) go down the hill and its the last factory by the lay-bys. Park up and go to the gate house and they'll direct you I think its only open two days a week, tues and fri if memory serves me correct, but I'm sure there's a link on here somewhere....

The problem is you can have the situation where two or more topics have a shared aspect . Pauls topic about possible air raid shelters also covered this area and I think it was on there I asked a question about the decoy factory which Paul said he was going to ask about next time he saw someone from the museum..
I dont know what the answer is - the term Midlands Heritage covers an enormous range of topics many of which are interlinked but to have too many section headings would be counter productive.

I've got to be honest Hobbler, I haven't had chance to go back yet

The connection between this and the 'air raid shelters' was coincidental which is why they are seperate issues and dealt with seperately, but I think its an example of how differing heritage topics and issues can become intertwined the further you look into them.... with regards to topics I've tried to keep things logical and have added to as neccessary and appropriately, but it is quite hard at times for me to keep up with everything

This initial thread was one of the 1st I think and the trouble is that some people go through everything and comment, thus bringing it to the surface again, where most people look at the latest stuff only, maybe I should close older threads or after a certain time has elapsed? I donn't know.... I donn't particuarly like doing that and prefer to leave them ongoing where ever it is possible and practical tho...

I dont think closing topics would be good - one of the things I like about the forum is the diversity of interest and newcomers may have something to add.
Is there a way to automatically bring up a box showing related topics or is that done on the tags already ?

I've recently done a couple of updates on threads I stsrted a while back so I'm all for most threads being left open. Having said that, there might well be a few threads where you could close them. But,please, not a blanket closure for all threads after a certain length of time has passed since the last post.

Yes it would have been near Coven, but because of the nature of it's construction I don't think even Time Team could find a trace of it now.
The location could be found ,I suppose, if the canal bridge could be
    identified.
