    Default White Ladies Farm

Spotted this on the way to white ladies priory, and although there was the building and construction companys signs everywhere, it looked deserted....

so had a nose on the way back...just to the right of this was the gates which were closed when I went past the 1st time, they were now open and there was the biggest german shepherd in there that I've seen!! I'm not scared of them and got 2 myself, but even tho, he/ she wagged their tail when i called them and spoke to them, I decided to leave it for another day....

But here's the pics I took anyway...

For sure, feel free to copy pics, thanks for asking

I'm afraid I don't know anything about its history, but I'd say its future is to be barn conversions and such like.... maybe your mum might know something of the history ???

Thank you Paul for allowing me to copy those photo's my mum will be delighted.

Paul was this place for sale or has it already been sold? Did you notice by any chance?

I'm curious about this place because it's where my Gt Grandad was born - I tracked his family in the 1881 census - RG11 /2959 folio 100 pg 5

It's saying White Ladiy Farm - my mum knew her family were farmers etc.. and I am trying to establish the relevance of this place - cause mum doesn't know whether the family lived here or were employed here etc.. All we know is there is roots of our family there etc.. but not sure how/why etc..

    Name: William Clifton
    Age: 6
    Estimated Birth Year: abt 1875
    Relation: Son
    Father's Name: Samuel
    Mother's Name: Ann
    Gender: Male
Where born: White Lady, Worcestershire, England

    Civil Parish: Birmingham
    County/Island: Warwickshire
    Country: England

    Thanks for your help Paul.

I don't think it was for sale as such. There was developers signs all over the place so I'm guessing that developers bought it off the owners with a view to doing the conversions etc. Its not really a way I go very often but if I'm around that way I'll have another nose

There's no problems re the pics, thanks again for asking permission tho I've actually got more that I didn't put up so if you contact me with your email address I'll forward them to you as well if you want??

This farm looks really interesting. Does anyone know what's happened to it two years down the line? I might go and have a look!

    Is this it here?
    http://www.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&sou...19054&t=h&z=16

I used the address Shackerley Ln, Codsall Wood, Wolverhampton, WV8 1QZ, which is what came up on google when I put in Whiteladies farm in that area.

Help much appreciated as I'll be in the area soon and want to check it out!
