    Unhappy The Fox hotel, Wolverhampton

There's borrowed time then there's this place...these pics were taken on Feb 26th this year... demolition was due to start January..

last weekend I spied that the demolition contractors had moved in and internal stripping out had started so I'm guessing that it won't be long before it comes down... in fact it may have already started by the time you read this..

    The Old Fox’s Lament

Remember St Paul’s, On that old road to Penn.
And those little shops that stood opposite; then.
Now a long time gone; cause, they needed the ground.
But that cunning Old Fox managed to stay around.
Well they’ve trapped the Old Fox in his final disguise.
Now this sly lone survivor awaits his demise.
From and more (go through this as there's some great old pics and links to other things/ places in Wolverhampton)-

I'm quite saddened by these pics as it was one of the first places I used to frequent and drink in as a youth twenty five odd years or so ago

The upper floors remind me of some of the secondary moderns that went up in the late 50s!

I'm sorry to report that it's gone. I couldn't believe how quickly it went, either. I saw it all boarded up one week and spied access and was planning to have an explore, and as if within a blink of the eye- I notice that it's getting stripped. The next time I went past it was demolished.

    Sad times, indeed.
