On 27th October 2011 a new aviation memorial to all those airmen and women who served at Doncaster Aerodrome was unveiled and dedicated in the presence of civic dignitaries and invited guests.

The Lakeside Memorial is located on a small island (reached by a bridge), which is close to the centre of the former aerodrome.













The Bellman hangar shown on the plan is still there and houses AeroVenture, South Yorkshire's air museum.
