Default Dealey Plaza - Where JFK was assassinated

November 22, 1963. John F.Kennedy, 35th President of the United States of America
is fatally wounded by multiple gunshots while riding in a presidential motorcade
    through Dallas, Texas.

    . . . . . Massive conspiracy? . . . or straight forward assassination?

    Dealey Plaza.

The former Texas School Book Depository building, from where (allegedly) JFK was shot.

Second floor down, on the right. The window appears to be open, as a permanent reminder.

A view from the railroad bridge. The buildings on the right may also have had shots fired from them.

'X' marks the spot. The position of Kennedy's car when he was first hit.

Position of the car when he was hit the second time.
The "Grassy Knoll" is in the background.

The view from the picket fence, where shots may also have been fired from.

A plaque, located just off the sidewalk.

The 6th floor of the building now houses a museum to kennedy and the assassination.

An excellent place to visit, if you get the chance.

I wonder if the city is preserving all the buildings around the plaza so that the scene will always look the same?

Since I'll be in Dallas in October there's no way I'm going to have an opinion on this. The more I know about it the more likely I'll be to say something I shouldn't when I'm over there

To be honest, I haven't put it on my list of places to visit in Dallas. Maybe if I go again but this time there's so much else to see

For those of us like myself with-or just developing-a memory at that time: that fateful day was unforgettable! Britishpathe has a newsreel regarding the aftermath and the initial scenes of JFK at the airport. I would imagine the major news networks are holding on to their actual footage at the moment owing to the 50 years anniversary in 3 years time. however i expect there are copies on Youtube etc.

From my knowledge, a feature film called "Executive Action" some 12 years after the tragedy attempted to dramatise the events, but got a thumbs down from the film critics' community. Info to follow later if anyone is interested.

I can`t remember the JFK event - but have quite clear memories of the RFK shooting in 1968!
