    Default The Smithfield, Blythe Bridge

Took these on Friday (19/12), they're stills from my digi camcorder. First time I've tried this so hope they look okay.

I'm wondering if the buildings at the rear of the pub were stables. Maybe originally a farm there which gradually metamorphosed into a public house/hotel.

Certainly looks that way. I've never seen the Pub myself, it look old enough to be preserved

Could it have been a Coaching Inn at one time which would explain the stables ?

I believe that the coach buildings at the rear are listed. Quite possibly a coaching pub at some time as it stands by the A50 between Stoke and Derby.
