    Default Industrial Stoke

I came across this small chimney and two storey building in Lytton Street in Stoke, not far from Stoke railway station. There was cleared land on either side but these had been left and the building had been in use within the last year.
Anyone any ideas as to what they would have been part of in the past? A small pottery perhaps?.

I'd say part of a pottery and this has probably been left as listed or in dispute, I've seen both elsewhere....

If you look at the 1890 OS map, there seems to be a blank area with a large gasometer very close. Possibly the chimney was once part of the gas works , though that won't have been its latest use, as they all disappeared 40 years ago.
