SWMBO and I went on an astronomy course at Preston Montford Field Studies Centre last weekend. Had a great time. The skies cleared for us on Friday night and I stuck the dSLR on our 200mm Newtonian reflector and took some images:
Andromeda Galaxy. Canon 7D, 30 secs exposure, ISO 4000 (four thousand)
Orion Nebula. Canon 7D, 10 secs ISO 4000
The scope wasn't fully aligned to the north celestial pole, hence the short star trails.
Pleiades. Canon 5D, 10 secs ISO 4000
