    Default Whitmore Railway Station

    The station & platform have long gone, but the booking office still remains. It was a saddlery a few years ago, now boarded up

    Seems strange to me that there isn't pressure to re-open Whitmore station as Whitmore and Baldwins Gate are both quite well-off villages. Maybe it'll never re-open because all(?) the trains that pass through are high speed

    yes always strikes me as it would be an ideal commuter station as there seems to be more & more houses being built in that area. But as you say its all high speed trains & if they have to stop to let passengers on & off it means they can't stick to the timetable

    I've seen that theres a heritage walk starting from here as part of HOD weekend, doubt we can make it (mining stuff to visit )

    Yes, I thought about it but won't have time even though I'm going on the first morning tour of the mining site I'm going to
