Odin Mine, Castleton, Derbyshire
Yet another delve into the past, this time underground at Odin Mine with PDMHS.
Descending the entrance. If I remember correctly, there was a handy chair leg wedged across one point to make things easier.
On down and into the mine, through some quite narrow descents
An amazing bit of walling here. Can't quite remember if it was holding the roof up or performing some other task.
This stonework definitely was, and with probably a lot of weight above.

just out of interested, how long ago was this? is it still accessable? not that i'd go in it of course.

Probably late 1970s, early 1980s. Don't know what access is like now - suggest you contact PDMHS.

Have not been there since the 70s, brings back some memories.

Appears to have been elevated to a heritage site.
