Default E.R. Lewendon - Rafwaffe.

Towards the end of 1941, No. 1426 (EAC) Flight was set up by the RAF, a Flight of German aircraft to aid military personnel in order to study the aircraft under operational conditions and also to travel various airfields dispaying the aircraft for recognition purposes.

No. 1426 (EAC) (Enemy Aircraft Circus) Flight, was nicknamed the Rafwaffe.

On 27th September 1944 F/Lt E.R. Lewendon assumed command of the unit, and on 13th October 1944, he was flying a Focke-Wulf FW.190 and the engine caught fire, he failed in his attempt to return to Collyweston.

The FW.190 crashed through stone walls, skidded across a road, coming to rest in the garden of a house, F/Lt Lewendon was killed aged 30.
