Default Salem Methodist Church, Smallthorne, Stoke on Trent

    Salem Methodist Church

Was it hoped or expected that the war would end in 1915?

The designer of the roll of honour was J. Cartlidge with a date of 1915. The art work at the bottom looks to be unfinished - the left-hand 'curls' are pink/red while those on the right aren't coloured. Also, 'The Great European War' and '1914 to 1919' look quite plain compared to the wording at the top of the roll. A different artist?

Salem also has a memorial from Victoria Methodist Church.
