    Default Shrewsbury, St Chad

    This memorial is situated in the entrance to the central hall in St Chad's church, Shrewsbury.
    It is dedicated to the Officers, Non Commissioned Officers and Men of the 53rd Shropshire Regiment who fell in action or died from the effects of wounds and exposure in the performance of their duties during the Indian Mutiny 1857-58-59

    on Gazette dated 13th April 1875, 6th, West Yorkshire Regiment, Lieutenant Charles Chamley Turner, from the Royal Westmoreland Militia, to be Lieutenant.
