This will be a commemoration of life and times in Tenbury Wells and its community in 1941. It will remind us that everyone had a role in winning the war – even in this quiet part of England.
The weekend of activities is planned to actively recreate this unique time in the history of Tenbury.
It seeks to involve everyone and every organization possible in looking at what life was like and how ordinary people lived and worked in such turbulent times. It will also bring other people to Tenbury to experience a unique time from the past.
We invite you to take part in the demonstrations, listen to the music, dance to the tunes, dress up. See how agriculture was carried on, find out what we wore, how we looked, how we were able to make do and mend, grow our vegetables, what a weeks food ration looked like, listen to the memories.
See how the war was won on the home front in this rural market town.
